Waring this is a personal post! When it comes to birthday, it always provokes a reflection of my life. The perfect day to reflect on things I will never regret doing and things I learned. So this article reflects on the most amazing thing that I have experienced and also the most painful thing I have been through. The last couple of years includes; my education as Ap, BC and Cand.Merc, moving to Denmark and New Zealand, travelling the world, starting my blog, and having the most amazing and supportive family and friends and sadly loosing my closest family member(s), and overcoming derpression connected to that. There were so sure many successes and failures, many ups & downs… but I always say to myself …hey, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. For me a “stubborn donkey”, they is no other way than to move forward. Therefore, I am sharing with you very personal post, so keep reading if you dare…
1. Family is EVERYTHING
The older I get, the more I realise that the time passes by so quickly, therefore I truly appreciate the moments with my family more and more. Also it is the fact that I do not have that big family and also because we are all living in different countries, the quality time is tremendously precious.
2. Moving To Denmark
First of all, I have to address this – moving away from home and family in very young age was something that has given me so much and also changed me in some ways. This was the best decision, I have done in my life which I will ever regret.
3. Education Is the Greatest Investment In Life
I always believed that an education is the best investment in my life. The knowledge is something that no one can not take away from you, it is give you possibilities to grow. However, having many tittles does not mean that everyone would welcome you with open arms, yet it is up to us how we use that to build our future.
4. Travelling the World
From moving to Denmark and after New Zealand and back again, this was the best decision and still an ongoing adventure of my life. And working in China, Jamaica, taking lecture at American University in Washington DC, peaking into Dow Jones New York, to just simply visiting amazing places, was surely the biggest experience.
5. Embrace Your Fears
Embracing my fears, is something I learned … yes, considering skydive and bungie jump as a challenge that I accomplished and survived. A little side not to my bungie jump experience, do NOT wear a tight top with a buttons, because your twines WILL jump out …. yes, gravity is a B****, and surely these guys chatting you in the boat will have something to look at. Yes, true story … I guess you can tell from the last image of me holding my top and the guy posing with thumbs up!
6. Learning to Drink Wine
My confession is I never liked red wine, however I think I grew up to this. I think life taste better with a glass of french red wine! Cheers my friends!
7. Having a King Charles Cavalier
My misconception about myself is that I thought all the time that I was a cat person. This changed after our little fellow Ipso joined the family and become my best friend.
8. Have a Goal
To have a clear goals is vital. Meaning that without aim you are lost. So it is ok be over ambitious! As I say, always shoot for the moon and even if you miss you will be amongst the stars ★.
9. Health is Our Wealth
There are sad moments in our life’s, at some point we must say good bye to those we love, and there is no way to prepare ourself for that. It just shows you how much it means to be appreciate the smallest things in life.
10. After the Rain There Comes the Sunshine Again
I will not go into big details here, but loosing three very loved persons in very short period is really hard. With this I leaned to let GO, and forgive. Also to overcome a depression connected to this and fight for the right things you believe in, even if it takes years.
11. No Pain – No Gain
Weather it is an education, business, sports carrier that is nothing in life that is for free. The harder your work the more you will get rewarded, it might be immediate . So the hard work and dedication pays off.
12. Be Kind To EVERYONE
Treat people with the respect and with kindness.
13. Be Honest To Myself & Others
Years ago, I would typically do everything for pleasing others, however I leaned to say NO and listen to my inner self, and express thing as they are event if it painful sometimes.
14. Eat Good Food
To have a burger, ice cream and cake from time to time is OK. Trust me as everyone else, I was eating so healthy all the time especially during my modelling years … yes, there is huge pressure to be looking lean, especially when you are walking the runway, but not always it is a good example for other women. So I learned to chill about my food, eat what I like because life is too short.
15. Quality Over Quantity
The fashion blogger talk now, when it comes to fashion I leander to invest into quality and timeless pieces. I would rather have less good things than loads of crap. This full also applies to food, and wine and friends 🙂 yep.
16. Breathe In & Breathe Out
It is equally important to take a break and relax. No matter how hard you are working you need the time to recharge. I was never goo at it … but now I need it more than before, maybe because I am older and maybe because I learned prioritise more. So vacation time and time for myself is absolutely necessary.
Love your enemies and forgive those that hurter you! Something that I learned …too.
18. Sport Makes Me Happy
What ever challenge in life I had on my journey, any kind of physical activity made me feel better. It could be workout at the gym, yoga, biking or golf it has such a massive impact on my state of mind. It really makes me so empowered and happy afterwards. So I leaned to exercise every week.
19. Starting My Blog
Something I will never regret is starting my blog. Its a place where I can freely express not only my style, but creativity and personality for me incredibly exciting.
20. Smile At the World and World Will Smile Right Back
I have to end today blog post with this image which in my opinion cappers everything. Positive vibes are SEXY! So I learned to smile at the world..
This was my first personal post, so I hope you enjoyed reading this. And now my dear friends, I will spend my evening with a good glass of wine and some sushi accompanied by my love. Cheers!!!!
