D anish architect Philip welcomes us to his stunning home in Copenhagen, which he is imbued with the classic nordic style and vintage finds making the spaces true home with heart.
My opinion is that home should be personal, welcoming and comfortable, a place where you feel safe and calm. And to be frank, I saw many homes that do not have … let’s call it the ‘soul’. With that I have in mind places which were furnished by interior designers and kind of lost the touch of the person or family living there. Some are hesitant to even display family photo on the walls because it might not be chic enough or even it does not fit with the style of their home. However this home featured here on #CatwalkAvenue is the very opposite, it has a great sense of style, by combing modern nordic pieces with very personal and vintage finds.
Therefore I am sharing with you this beautiful home that is still having the nordic charm yet it is so warm, cosy and stylish. As well I want to mention some tips on how you can make your home more cosy. I hope, it is something that might inspire you.
The most amazing relaxing corner I have seen in long time. Surely, this was my favourite place in the whole house. I love the fact that the little sofa is overlooking a beautiful garden, it creates amazing space for reading books, having a nap, listening music or just enjoying your morning coffee.
Using earth tones elements in your home like these leather brown chairs and the vintage closet, which creates a sense of intimacy and it brings the room to life. It is the prefect space where the family and friends can spend an endless hours of chilling out, chatting and connecting.
Fresh flowers make such a big difference to any home. You do not need to have florist to make an expensive floral arrangement for you every week. Just simple bouquet of dusty pink roses will do the job, and it is also very affordable. You can also decorate your kitchen table like I did right here.
Old Books & Chic Storage
Another way way to make your home office or living room more cosy is to add to you bookcase some old books. I love when I see homes that are really having a collection of modern literature and old books.
Typically, you would not see much of curtains or window blinds in the nordic countries. The fact is the window treatments are must when you want to make your home more welcoming and warm. This makes an instant change to any home.
There are some items that caught my eye. Very versatile and timeless lamps that are looking just good when the light is switched off. It looks so elegant and it adds just the smallest corner a purpose and use.
This cool entry is actually attached to the house and it really creates a cool effect, you have a feeling you are walking in your own charming entry room decorated with images and dressed with the latests fashion finds.
Overall, it does not take much to make your home more ‘homie’. This stylish living is top notch, with a good mixture of scandinavian design, vintage peices and great ideas! Philips home is definitely a place that is a #PinterestWorthy and own creation that one should be proud of.
